Carolyn's Place

Carolyn's Place is a 20-bed facility that provides shelter services to women who are survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or homelessness and their dependent children. Services offered to Carolyn's Place clients may include:

  • Emergency Shelter
  • Individual counseling
  • Case management services for residential clients
  • Housing referrals
  • Employment referrals
  • Referrals for financial assistance
  • Education referrals
  • Legal advocacy and referrals
  • Child care referrals
  • Health care referrals
  • Support Groups

FIRST RESPONSE

This program provides immediate assistance to the survivors of sexual assault. Services depend upon the needs and desires of the survivor, but may include support to the individual:

  • At the scene of the incident
  • During medical treatment and evidence collection
  • By providing clothing to replace those items collected as evidence
  • By providing advocacy, support and assistance throughout the criminal justice proceedings.

COURT ADVOCACY PROGRAM

Through this program, a court advocate will provide consumers with information and support in obtaining their legal rights. Depending upon their individual circumstances and what has brought them to the court system, the advocate helps consumers:

  • Communicate with law enforcement agencies
  • Complete and file personal protection orders (PPO)
  • Design a safety plan
  • Seek emergency shelter
