SUPPORTIVE HOUSING

Safe Horizons operates a Supportive Housing program for consumers who are homeless who may also have physical disabilities, sever and persistent mental illnesses, histories of substance and/or alcohol dependencies, and who may also be survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence. These consumers are HUD defined homeless or chronically homeless and have low or no income. 

Supportive Housing is a program with multiple resources that provides qualifying consumers with housing subsidy or more affordable housing options to acquire and maintain stable housing.  

Services offered to Supportive Housing consumers may include:

  • Innovative Case Management Including Monthly Visits
  • Community Outreach
  • Rental Assistance
  • Supportive Services
  • Referrals
  • Peer Support Groups

  • Landlord/Tenant Issues
  • Payment of Rent
  • Budgeting Help
  • Housing Inspections
  • Managing for Permanent Housing
  •  Obtaining Public Benefits
  • Liaison for Housing Legal Aid
  • Moving
  • Finding Housing
  • Addressing Tenant Complaints
  • Problem Solving and Prevention with Maintaining Housing
  • Mental Health and Substance Abuse Supportive Services and Referrals
